Top Headlines🔥
Citigroup bets on Meta's Muse as AI's 'front door to the internet'
Source: Reuters
October 6th, 2026
Summary: Citigroup estimates Muse could bring Meta more than $27B a year in revenue by 2030. About $23B of that would come from the fees Muse charges merchants when it buys on behalf of users. Subscriptions would add another $4.5B. Since launching on September 8th, Muse has passed 6.6M downloads and 1.8M daily users. Meta’s stock is up more than 20% in that time. Muse is becoming a key entry point for Meta into both consumer and business markets.
Opinion: Sorry CMOs, but the AI marketing zeitgeist is shifting again. For the last 18 months, AI marketing was all about showing up in AI answers and buying ads inside AI chat. Muse skips both. It finds, compares, and buys things autonomously. Muse is resetting consumer expectations (again) and making empty chat boxes feel useless and boring. AI marketing will now be about influencing personal and business agents.

Brands are building in-house creative teams to use AI for mass production
Source: Digiday
October 2nd, 2026
Summary: Wyndham, Opella, and BetMGM are scaling their AI creative production with new dedicated in-house teams. Wyndham's AI tool of choice is Adora, which helps it produce 15 times more Instagram assets and launch campaigns in a quarter of the time. Wyndham's site visit rate is now six times its benchmark. Opella built its own AI system and now makes 20 times more assets, mostly adapting ads for various countries. BetMGM uses tools like Arcana AI to create imagery and video spots.
Opinion: Until recently, mass AI ad production was mostly being done by giants like Unilever and L’Oréal using enterprise grade tools and large teams. A new crop of AI tools are democratizing high-quality image generation and helping mid-size brands match their output. And AI costs keep falling, leveling the playing field even more.

New Products & Features 🚀
What It Does: The Gemini agent is Google’s new autonomous AI for work. Hand it a goal, and it figures out the steps and delivers the output, whether that’s research, a deck, a report, or code. It works inside Gmail, Docs, Sheets, and Slides, and remembers your projects and team. You can also create a “coworker agent” with its own email address and calendar. For example, a marketing manager can tag a campaign manager coworker agent in a group chat and ask it to draft a campaign launch plan, then post the plan in the chat when complete. Gemini is just the agent layer; it picks the best AI model for each task, which could be a Gemini model or an Anthropic model.
Quick Take: OpenAI’s dots, Meta’s Muse, and now Gemini all promise to take a goal and come back with finished work. For marketers, Muse and Gemini might be extra valuable, as they sit closest to Meta and Google campaign data, respectively. That said, using different agents for different platforms will lead to other downstream issues.
What It Does: OpenAI’s new visual ad format lets marketers show their products. The ads will appear while people generate images in ChatGPT. OpenAI added more 3rd party measurement partners, including Triple Whale, Northbeam, and Haus for running lift tests. DoubleVerify and IAS are helping OpenAI keep ads away from brand-sensitive chats.

Quick Take: People generating images are in creative mode, not shopping mode. These ads may work well for discovery and brand awareness, not for driving purchases.
OpenAI launches Intelligent UI with GPT-6
What It Does: Intelligent UI is a new interface that comes with GPT-6, OpenAI’s newest generation of AI models. Intelligent UI enables ChatGPT to “design” answers, rather than just writing them out. It picks the best mix of text, images, charts, maps, and buttons for each prompt. It can also build simple apps on request, like a bill splitter or savings calculator. Ask for a dinner party plan, and you get a menu with photos, a cooking timeline, and a guest-count slider that updates your shopping list. Intelligent UI is rolling out to all ChatGPT users, including the free tier.
Quick Take: Hoo boy are plain AI chat boxes and written responses getting dated, fast. This raises the stakes for brands’ product data. A visual answer, like a shopping list with photos, needs high-quality brand images, prices, and details readily available. Brands with missing or messy data will be left out.
What It Does: Shopping Assistant is an AI agent that answers user questions about a product’s sizing, shipping, and availability, then helps people buy without leaving TikTok. Agentic Leads is an AI agent that chats with potential customers to capture and qualify leads. Smart+, TikTok’s AI campaign tool, now automates search ads and pulls AI-generated and creator content into one place for approval. GMV Max, TikTok Shop’s automated ad tool, will now factor in costs like coupons so sellers can optimize for profit.

Quick Take: Every walled garden is introducing AI to keep users within their walls longer, collect more data from them, and get them to make purchases without ever leaving. It’s a land grab!
What It Does: Dentsu agency Carat teamed up with NBCUniversal, FreeWheel, and AI company Newton to build AI agents that combine unique data and IDs from all parties to help brands manage their upfront TV spending. Each agent is built for a single brand’s goals. It watches how ads perform, what people search for afterward, and what rivals are doing, then recommends how to shift spend across NBCUniversal’s inventory.
Quick Take: Here’s a case where the seller helped build the buyer’s agent. It’s value-add, since NBCU knows its own audiences and inventory best. Could also mean that this particular agent’s advice needs extra vetting.

AI Use Case of The Week💡
Pandora lifts ROAS with Pinterest’s AI campaign tools

The Setup: Jewelry brand Pandora wanted incremental online and in-store sales in the US, UK, and Germany. Pinterest was a natural fit, since people visit the app to plan gifts and special-occasion purchases.
The AI Solution: Pandora ran its lower-funnel campaigns through Pinterest Performance+, an AI tool that automates bidding, targeting, and creative. The AI resized Pandora’s product photos and made variations for different placements. Pandora also tested promotions and uploaded in-store sales data, so the AI could learn which ads drove store visits.
The Results:
• Incremental ROAS rose 7.5% on average
• ROAS jumped 47% between H1 and H2 2025
Why This Matters: Pandora used online and in-store sales data. That gave the AI a fuller picture of the value of the Pinterest ads. Remember, AI is only as good as the data it has access to.
Your Action: Run your own version of Pandora’s test with a chatbot. Export some recent campaign reports with online conversions only, paste it into ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini, and ask: “Which of these campaigns should I scale, and which should I cut?” Then open a new chat, paste the same reports plus your best estimate of offline sales for each campaign, and ask again. Is there a big shift in the recommendations? If yes, then you need to capture offline data and feed it to your AI campaign tools. If no, then maybe it’s not worth the extra effort.
